The journey of the Steiner High School in New Zealand over the last few years has been strongly focused on the development of the Steiner School Certificate. The introduction of this qualification has thrown a sharp light on how we assess our students and the attendant anxiety that in creating such an assessment model we are somehow compromising the spirit of our education. What is this “spirit?”
With this question has grown the will for teachers to deepen their understanding of Waldorf pedagogy and curriculum and how this meets the needs of the adolescent of the twenty-first century. This is also a question for middle school teachers as they grapple with the challenges of the child in puberty. It is our intention that this conference will help us work with insight, inspiration and find new ways to enliven our practice.
The conference fee is $250 which includes Friday and Sunday nights’ light dinners, all lunches
Saturday-Monday and morning and afternoon teas.
